Why is oil so useful?

Crude oil contains many substances which are useful to us. These substances are separated by fractional distillation. Crude oil and natural gas, on the other hand, can be removed from beneath the surface, piped to storage tanks and processed into things we use. Hydrocarbons with small molecules make good fuels.

Moreover, why the oil is so important?

It's easy to understand why oil is so important in our lives. Gasoline is made from crude oil. Lubricating oil is also used to keep our automobile engines from getting too hot and to ensure that all moving parts of the machinery are kept in good working order.

What is oil needed for?

Petroleum products include transportation fuels; fuel oils for heating and electricity generation; asphalt and road oil; and feedstocks for making the chemicals, plastics, and synthetic materials that are in nearly everything we use.
