Why do I have an increased appetite?

In some cases, an increase in appetite can be a sign of an abnormal condition, such as some endocrinologic conditions, including diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and Graves' disease. Increased appetite may also be seen in certain emotional or psychiatric conditions, as well as a response to stress, anxiety, or depression.

Keeping this in consideration, why do you feel hungry after eating a large meal?

Foods that fall high on the glycemic index can make your blood sugar spike, causing a surge of insulin to drag it back down. The quick vacillation in blood sugar can cause a disruption to the normal cycle of leptin — a hormone secreted by the fat cells that signals to the brain when you've had enough to eat.
