What seems to be Mercutio's attitude towards love?

Mercutio, apparently a haunted former soldier, could, perhaps be termed a "nihilist". His attitude towards love, therefore, is the same as his attitude towards just about everything else: it's all ultimately meaningless.

In this case, Romeo sees love as bitter-sweet. At the beginning of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is extremely dejected because Rosaline, the girl he loves, has vowed celibacy and rejected his love. He hasn't eaten in days, locks himself in a dark room, and avoids his friends and relatives.
