What makes food vegan?

Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or poultry. Vegans, in addition to being vegetarian, do not use other animal products and by-products such as eggs, dairy products, honey, leather, fur, silk, wool, cosmetics, and soaps derived from animal products.

What things are not vegan?

Things that Aren't (always) Vegan:
  • Worcestershire Sauce - Anchovies, however there are vegan brands.
  • Marshmallows - Gelatin, there are vegan brands though, thank goodness!)
  • Altoids - Gelatin.
  • White Sugar - Not all sugar is processed using bone char, but some still are.
  • Jello/Jelly - Gelatin.
