What is the largest Marine Corps base in the world?

No. In fact, it's not even the biggest Marine Corps base. The largest, in terms of area and population, are both in California. Twentynine Palms has a relatively small population but covers 650,000 acres, and Camp Pendleton has more Marines than Lejeune – although that hasn't always been the case.

Simply so, what percent of Marines are deployed?

Fifty-three percent of the active duty Air Force and 50 percent of the Navy had not been to the wars, not surprising since the fighting is overwhelmingly on the ground. Still, 45 percent of the Marines and 37 percent of Army forces had never been deployed.

Where do Marines go to boot camp?

Those who enlist west of the Mississippi will likely go through boot camp in San Diego, while those in the East will attend at Parris Island. There is only one boot camp to turn women into Marines -- Parris Island. USMC Recruit Training All Marine recruits start their training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD).
