What is the difference between Dewalt 20v Max and Max XR?
The difference between the the is that the XR is more powerfull than the regular 20V. The batteies are are made to fit both the 20V max and the 20 XR. The only difference in batteries is the amount of Amps. for the batteries.
Designed to work with an assortment of 18V tools, you can use the DCB201 and DCB203 20V MAX Lithium-Ion batteries without having to spend money on new tools. Use only with compact DeWALT batteries DCB201 and DCB203. Allows for use of 20V MAX batteries in most 18V tools. Requires use of 20V MAX charger.
- Currently, DeWalt manufactures and sells more than 200 different power hand-tools and 800 accessories. DeWalt is now a popular brand of tools for commercial contractors. In 2004, Black and Decker bought rival power tool manufacturer Porter-Cable and combined it with DeWalt in Jackson, Tennessee.

Brushless motor technology has been the rage in cordless power tools the last couple of years. In a tool with a brushless motor, the motor adjusts according to the task. The more resistance a drill or saw senses, the more power it draws, and conversely a lack of resistance lessens the pull.

- The impact driver uses both bit rotation and concussive blows to power-drive screws through the thickest, densest woods. The result of this combo is raw, unadulterated power. In fact, impact drivers typically deliver two to three times more turning force (torque) than the average drill/driver.
- Delivering unrivaled performance in a compact structure, all M18 FUEL™ products feature three Milwaukee®-exclusive innovations—The POWERSTATE™ Brushless Motor, REDLITHIUM™ Battery Pack and REDLINK PLUS™ Intelligence Hardware and Software—that deliver unmatched power, run-time and durability on the jobsite.
XR Brushless Motor. Longer runtime and longer tool life. A standard motor contains carbon brushes which generate friction. The XR BRUSHLESS MOTOR eliminates this wasted energy, maximising the runtime and life of the tool.
- In electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, the power rating of equipment is the highest power input allowed to flow through particular equipment. According to the particular discipline, the term "power" may refer to the electrical or mechanical power.
- The nominal power is the nameplate capacity of photovoltaic (PV) devices, such as solar cells, panels and systems, and is determined by measuring the electric current and voltage in a circuit, while varying the resistance under precisely defined conditions.
- Also described as current rating or current-carrying capacity, ampacity is the RMS electric current which a device or conductor can continuously carry while remaining within its temperature rating. The ampacity of a conductor depends on: its insulation temperature rating; ambient temperature.
