What is the difference between a myogenic and neurogenic heart?
The cardiac muscle possesses automaticity and contract spontaneously. A myogenic heart is capable of generating a cardiac contraction independent of nervous input. Neurogenic heart: A neurogenic heart requires nervous input to contract.

- Myogenic response refers to a contraction initiated by the myocyte cell itself instead of an outside occurrence or stimulus such as nerve innervation.
