A fox's home is called a “den”. It can be a hole in the ground or elsewhere, such as under a garden shed. Hunters often try to scare foxes out of their dens by sending in dogs so that the hunter can then shoot the foxes. Sometimes the foxes remain in the den and are injured or killed by the dogs.
Also question is, is the Fox related to the dog?
Foxes are much more closely related to dogs than cats. Foxes are part of the Canidae biological family that includes wolves, foxes, jackals, coyotes, and domestic dogs. I don't know which is more closely related, but anatomically I would guess the fox is closer to the dog.
What happens if a dog eats fox poo?
It is a very serious disease and can potentially kill dogs. A different species of lungworm does occur in cats but does not lead to the serious clinical illness as in dogs. Pick up the poo. The poo of a dog infected with lungworm will help spread the parasite to other slugs and snails, where it will develop.
Can foxes attack you?
Not all pet dogs attack, but once bitten twice shy. Rabid foxes are also, like urban foxes, less wary of humans than their rural counterparts. You will more likely see a fox at dusk, or at night, but they do not attack people so there is no worry about exploring an area either at day or night.
