What does SPDT mean on a switch?

SPDT. A Single Pole Double Throw toggle switch connects a common terminal to one or the other of two terminals. It is always connected to one or the other.

What is the use of DPST switch?

A Double Pole Single Throw (DPST) switch is a switch that has 2 inputs and 2 outputs; each input has 1 corresponding output. Each of the terminals of a double pole single switch can either be in the on position (closed) or in the off position (open).

What does Dpst stand for?

SP and DP refer to single pole and double pole, ST and DT refer to single throw and double throw. Pole refers to the number of circuits controlled by the switch: SP switches control only one electrical circuit.
