What does it mean to have a BMI of 40?

Obesity means having a BMI (body mass index, a ratio of weight to height) of 30 or higher. Severe obesity -- also called morbid obesity -- begins at a BMI of 40. That's a weight of about 235 for a person who is 5 feet 4 inches tall and a weight of about 280 for a person 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Keeping this in view, what does a BMI of 22.1 mean?

BMI stands for body mass index. Obesity is generally defined as a BMI of 30 or greater, while healthy weight for adults refers to a BMI of at least 19 and less than 25. A BMI of 40 or more is often used to identify people who are extremely obese and at risk for serious health complications of obesity.
