What devices use computer control?

A control system typically comprises of a computer or microprocessor, a control program which handles data from sensors and sends signals to output devices and an interface box to convert signals between the sensors and the processor.

Similarly one may ask, how does a control unit works?

A control unit or CU is circuitry that directs operations within a computer's processor. A control unit works by receiving input information that it converts into control signals, which are then sent to the central processor. The computer's processor then tells the attached hardware what operations to carry out.

What is control unit and ALU?

An arithmetic logic unit (ALU) is a digital circuit used to perform arithmetic and logic operations. It represents the fundamental building block of the central processing unit (CPU) of a computer. Modern CPUs contain very powerful and complex ALUs. In addition to ALUs, modern CPUs contain a control unit (CU).
