In additive color mixing, like light, all the colors combined create white. Consider a prism and imagine the process in reverse. In subtractive color mixing, like paint, all the colors combined create black. This is because you've effectively blocked all other colors.
What colors can you make with primary colors?
Red, yellow and blue are the primary colors. Primary colors are the most basic colors. You can't make them by mixing any other colors. Orange, green and purple are the secondary colors.
Grey (British English) or gray (American English; see spelling differences) is an intermediate color between black and white. It is a neutral or achromatic color, meaning literally that it is a color "without color." It is the color of a cloud-covered sky, of ash and of lead.
The surface of the apple is reflecting the wavelengths we see as red and absorbing all the rest. An object appears white when it reflects all wavelengths and black when it absorbs them all. By varying the amount of red, green and blue light, all of the colors in the visible spectrum can be produced.
The ratio of colors for mixing shows darkness of brown color. If you mixed small quantity of gold color with purple, you will get light brown color and if you mixed high quantity of gold color with purple you will get dark brown color.
A black pigment can, however, result from a combination of several pigments that collectively absorb all colors. If appropriate proportions of three primary pigments are mixed, the result reflects so little light as to be called "black".

Images using only shades of grey (with or without black or white) are called grayscale or black-and-white. However, scientifically speaking, monochromatic light refers to visible light of a narrow band of wavelengths (see spectral color).
The same theory applies to black and white. Black is not a color; a black object absorbs all the colors of the visible spectrum and reflects none of them to the eyes. The grey area about black: A black object may look black, but, technically, it may still be reflecting some light.
Mixing blue and purple requires you to mix a primary color with a secondary color. Mixing these colors together creates the tertiary color blue-violet. But, that is a far too simple answer to the question of what color is created when blue and purple are mixed.
In physics, a color is visible light with a specific wavelength. Black and white are not colors because they do not have specific wavelengths. Instead, white light contains all wavelengths of visible light. Black, on the other hand, is the absence of visible light.

The light waves are refracted as they enter and leave the prism. The shorter the wavelength of the light, the more it is refracted. As a result, red light is refracted the least and violet light is refracted the most, causing the coloured light to spread out to form a spectrum.

Blending gray colors from primary colors. ArtRage study. An effective way to mix grey is to mix together red, blue , yellow and white and you will get a whole range of beautiful greys, known as tertiary greys. These are much more subtle than black/white greys, which are cold and lifeless.
When red and green combine, the result is yellow. When red and blue combine, the result is magenta. When blue and green combine, the result is cyan. Additive mixing is used in television and computer monitors to produce a wide range of colors using only three primary colors.
In the visible spectrum, WHITE REFLECTS LIGHT, and is not the absence of light. However,BLACK ABSORBS LIGHT and is the absence of colour. Black can be correctly identified as the visual impression experienced by a person when no light can reach the eye.
In a blog post, Robert Krulwich of the public radio show Radiolab noted that there is no pink in the colors of the rainbow. Pink is actually a combination of red and violet, two colors, which, if you look at a rainbow, are on the opposite sides of the arc. The R (red) is as far as it can get from V (violet).
Therefore, the highest-frequency ultra-violet light (or the lowest wavelength) is violet. However, the highest-frequency visible light would have to be roughly blue.
Mix true blue and red. Pour equal amounts of red and blue paint onto a palette and use a brush to mix them together to create a rich purple hue. For a purple color that leans more toward violet, add extra blue paint.
