What are the symptoms of a blocked sinus?

Symptoms of sinusitis include:
  • a green or yellow discharge from your nose.
  • a blocked nose.
  • pain and tenderness around your cheeks, eyes or forehead.
  • a sinus headache.
  • a high temperature (fever) of 38C (100.4F) or more.
  • toothache.
  • a reduced sense of smell.
  • bad breath (halitosis)

To keep your nasal passages moist, you can:
  1. Use a humidifier or vaporizer.
  2. Take long showers or breathe in steam from a pot of warm (but not too hot) water.
  3. Drink lots of fluids.

  6. Place a warm, wet towel on your face.
  7. Prop yourself up.
