What are the external dependencies of a project?

External Dependencies. This template is used to capture external dependencies, which are tasks, events, or deliverables that are outside of the Project Manager's control (performed by someone not on the project team) that must happen before the project can progress.

What is upstream and downstream in software?

Open Source developers who are "downstream" build applications and tools on the finished products. Those who are upstream actually work on the products to be released. If you develop software: you depend on the stability of the upstream development. And those who work on your software are downstream developers.
