Is the Torah the same as the Old Testament?

It is a little easier to explain the difference between the Old Testament and Tanakh, or the Hebrew Bible, since both include the Torah, or first five books (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus and Deuteronomy). The Protestant Old Testament and the Tanakh, or Hebrew Bible, contain exactly the same library of books.

Similarly one may ask, what is the difference between the Torah and the Talmud?

The Torah is the Hebrew Bible, and while some people think of just the "Five Books of Moses" Torah refers to all of the Hebrew Bible, including such books as Joshua, Psalms, Book of Ruth, etc. The Talmud is the compilation of the historic rabbis "discussing" or "debating" what the Torah means.

What is the Pentateuch in the Bible?

Pentateuch. means the first five books of the Bible. These books are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. The word Pentateuch comes from two Greek words that mean "five books" or "five scrolls". According to tradition, the books were written by the Israelite leader, Moses.

Which came first the Torah the Bible or the Quran?

But the Bible is not 2000 years old.. historical evidence of first Bible is only 1500 years old (old testament). But Hebrew bible(Torah and Tanakh) predate Jesus. The first 4 books of bible Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers were written 450 BCE when Jesus wasn't even born.
