When you download an apk file from the web you are downloading the installable file directly with full awareness and you are using to install the app. They are too may apk sharing sites and you never know if the apk for the app is safe. The best way is to download the app from Google play store or Amazon store.
Then, what are APK files used for?
Application Package Kit (APK) is the package file format used by the Android operating system for distribution and installation of mobile apps and middleware. APK files are analogous to other software packages such as APPX in Microsoft Windows or Deb packages in Debian-based operating systems like Ubuntu.

Microsoft Office Excel
- Click on the "Microsoft Office" folder.
- Select "Microsoft Office Excel."
- Click on "File" and select "Open."
- Select "All Files" from the file type area.
- Double-click on the .db file you wish to open. The database file will load in Excel.
Deleting database files do not affect or delete your chat. You can delete all of them. It will be better for device memory. Since WhatsApp automatically create new backup every morning at 3 am.
Go to WhatsApp folder and find the file you want to restore, they are usually named in the following convention msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt (where YYYY is the Year, MM the Month and DD the Day). Now rename this file, in the same folder (don't move it) to msgstore.db.crypt .
You may delete your WhatsApp backups by following the instructions below. Your chat history backup files are saved in the /sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases/ folder. You cannot open these folders outside of WhatsApp. You will need a file manager to delete these files.
Openssl apparently also could be used to hack the database. Although it appears WhatsApp encrypted the msgstore.db database using the .crypt utility, it's still possible to read chats from the encrypted database by creating a simple Python script, which converts it to a plain SQLite 3 database.

To delete or clear your entire chat history:
- Go to WhatsApp > Settings (Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Settings) > Media Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete all conversations or Clear all conversations:Delete All Conversations will delete all conversations and all messages inside of them.

You can follow below instructions to restore WhatsApp messages or chats from a backup:
- Uninstall WhatsApp.
- Open the WhatsApp database or backup folder.
- Rename that file from “msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt7” to “msgstore.db.crypt7”.
- Install WhatsApp.
- When asked to restore, tap Restore.

- Then go to your device when you get the window below.

Well fear not. You can recover deleted text messages from your iPhone. Indeed, it's possible you can do so without having recourse to anything more difficult than restoring from backup - we recommend iTunes. And at worst you may be able to get those messages back using a third-party app.
