Is it 5 in the afternoon or evening?

I freaked out about which was the correct time of day to put on the invitation for 5pm. Here is the traditional rule: it is 5 o'clock in the afternoon. actually, technically, anything up to and including 5:59 pm is afternoon, 6pm begins evening.

In this manner, what is considered mid day?

MIDNIGHT. This is the middle of the night (00:00 hours). MIDDAY. This is the middle of the day, also called "NOON" (12:00 hours).

What do you mean by late evening?

Afternoon usually refers to any time between 12:00 and sunset. Evening is the time from when it starts to get dark, till it is clearly night time. ( the actual time would depend on where you live) Midnight is 12 pm it is an exact time. If you say late - it means towards the end of the time bracket.

What is the difference between evening and night time?

The difference between evening and night is actual time of day. Evening is typically the hours between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Night is generally any hours that the sun is not above the horizon. (sunset - sunrise) (so speaking by definition, it can be night and evening at the same time.)
