Is e6000 good for metal?
The first thing you should know is that E6000 adhesive is not just for making jewelry projects. In fact, you can use this product on a variety of materials, including metal, glass, clay, seashells, rocks, beads, ceramic, wood and even fabric.
E6000 starts getting tacky in approximately 2 minutes and begins setting in approximately 10 minutes. A full cure takes between 24 and 72 hours. Remember, temperature and humidity will affect dry time. To speed drying, apply heat using a handheld dryer set on low.
- For most of our wood glues, we recommend clamping an unstressed joint for thirty minutes to an hour. Stressed joints need to be clamped for 24 hours. We recommend not stressing the new joint for at least 24 hours. For Titebond Polyurethane Glue, we recommend clamping for at least forty-five minutes.
- Wood glue is designed to hold strong and create long-lasting wood joints, but it takes awhile to dry. Hot glue, on the other hand, hardens almost instantly. In fact, you can use hot glue as decent method for clamping two wood joints together while wood glue dries.

E6000 is a multi-purpose, industrial strength adhesive. It is flexible and viscous styrene-based. E6000 is used for attaching glass and jewelry to metal findings, glass to glass and other applications. It adheres in 5 to 10 minutes and hardens to a clear, waterproof cure in 24 hours.
- The Loctite Glass Glue provides invisible repairs to all types of glass, including crystal and stained glass. The glue will also bond glass to metal. The waterproof glue is heat resistant and dishwasher safe.
- Place a dot of epoxy, glass glue or crystal glue on the location that needs to be pieced back together. Press the pieces together. Wipe off any excess glue that sticks out from the sides of the jointed location. Hold tightly for at least two minutes or until the glue begins to set.
- E6000 is 1 part epoxy glue so is ready to use straight out of the tube and doesn't require any mixing. E6000 can be used to embellish: Mobile phones, flip flops and other footwear, it's perfect for attaching crystals to any surface made from fabric, wood, glass or metal.
