How many square feet does a bag of river rock cover?

One cubic yard covers approximately 100 square feet to a depth of 3″. One 2 cubic foot bag (soils and mulches) covers approximately 8 square feet to a depth of 3″. One 75 pound bag (gravel, sand) covers approximately 4 square feet to a depth of 3″.

In this way, how do you figure out how much rock you need?

Sand, Gravel and Dirt
  1. LENGTH X WIDTH = SQUARE FT. Example: 10 x 10 = 100 Sq. Ft.
  2. SQUARE FT. X DEPTH = CUBIC FT. Example: 100 x .5 (OR 6 INCHES) = 50 Cubic Ft.
  3. CUBIC FT. DIVIDED BY 27 = CUBIC YARDS.
  4. CUBIC YARDS X 1.35 = TONS. Example: 1.852 Cubic Yards x 1.35 = 2.501 Tons.
  5. Compacted Tons. 2.501 X 1.33 = 3.327 Tons.

How much does a half a yard of river rock weigh?

per cubic yard.
River Rock (all) = 1.325 tons (2650 lbs.) per cubic yard.
Granite (all) = 1.325 tons (2650 lbs.)
