How long do you bake biscuits at 450?
Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) for 12 to 15 minutes. Variation: For shortcakes add 2 tablespoons for sugar to the dough and roll dough out to 1/2 inch thick.
Cut dough into biscuits using a cookie cutter. Light grease a cookie sheet with cooking spray then place your biscuits on the cookie sheet. Spread the biscuits out on the sheet so that they do not touch. Bake biscuits on the center oven rack at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Generally, cookies are baked in a moderate oven—350 degrees F (175 degrees C)—for 8 to 12 minutes, depending on the size of the cookie. For chewy cookies, allow them to cool on the pan for 3 to 5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
- Breads made with less than 1/2 cup sugar are generally baked at 375° and bread with more are baked at 350°. A loaf of bread can bake from 25 to 45 minutes. The baking time depends on the size and shape of the loaf and the temperature of the oven.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes.* Preheat oven to 375° F. Cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices; place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
Roll dough out into a 1/2 inch thick sheet and cut with a floured biscuit or cookie cutter. Press together unused dough and repeat rolling and cutting procedure. Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheets and bake in preheated oven until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
- If your butter is completely frozen, you might try grating it on a cheese grater. A very hot oven is also key to good biscuits. My oven tends to run hot, so I put the temperature at 425°F, but if your oven is cool, you can go up to 450°F.

- Raw Dough Can Contain Bacteria That Cause Disease. Flour is typically a raw agricultural product. In addition, raw eggs that are used to make raw dough or batter can contain a germ called Salmonella that can make you sick if the eggs are eaten raw or lightly cooked. Eggs are safe to eat when cooked and handled properly
- For best results, do not refrigerate biscuit dough for more than a few hours - for longer-term storage, freeze instead. To freeze, wrap dough tightly with aluminum foil or plastic freezer wrap, or place in heavy-duty freezer bag.
- Freeze Canned Biscuits. I found out just today that you can freeze the biscuits-in-a-can! Find a sale, stock up, and throw them in the freezer. You can either let the can thaw out, pop it open and then bake the biscuits or (frozen cans will NOT pop) pry the frozen biscuits out of the can and bake them.
