How heavy is a trap bar?
The standard type weighs about 30 pounds, which is slightly lighter than the Gerard trap bar. And lastly is the XL trap bar which comes in at 55 pounds. Most of the trap bars in your gyms will weigh 45 pounds as the classic type, but the weight can vary from tool to tool.
When you perform a bench press, you are lifting the weight plates added to the bar along with the bar itself. Therefore, include the weight of the bar when calculating your total bench press. For example, if you put 150 pounds of weight on the bar and the bar weighs 45 pounds, your total bench press is 195 pounds.
- Your first workout shouldn't go any heavier than “just” the bar, which means the bar without any added weight. As we know from strength training equipment, a standard barbell weighs 45 lbs (20.4 kg).
- Our EZ-bars weigh 7.5kg or 10kg here in Finland. Standard EZ Curl bar weight is 10 pounds (which is 5 pounds less than a standard straight barbell). Typically, the length of an ez curl bar is 47 inches.

So, how much does an EZ curl bar weigh (Olympic)? It weighs around 25 pounds. This is because they are longer and have a sleeve and a bearing assembly. Still, they aren't as heavy as a typical Olympic barbell which weighs between 35 to 45 pounds.
