How good are dates for you?

Dates are a good source of various vitamins and minerals, energy, sugar, and fiber. It also contains calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and zinc.

Are dates fattening to eat?

Eating 10 gms of dates would provide 23 calories with lots of fiber along. It is fattening if you don't check the portion and eat more than required as in the case of other foods also. But people who have sugar problems especially those with Type 2 diabetes should avoid eating dates as it is not good for their health.

How many calories does one date have?

Per 3.5-ounce serving, or about 4 pitted dates, the larger, meatier semi-soft medjool variety supplies 277 calories, 1.8 grams of protein, very little fat and 75 grams of carbohydrates, of which 66.5 grams are mostly the simple sugars glucose and fructose. Dietary Fiber. Dates are an excellent source of dietary fiber.
