How do you stop a dripping tap?

Set aside the tap handle, along with the shroud if there is one, to reveal the tap valve underneath. Use an adjustable spanner to unscrew the tap valve so that you can remove the valve from the tap seat. Unscrew or flip off the washer and replace with another. Reverse the process to reassemble the tap.

Considering this, why does the faucet drip?

During each use, the washer is forced against the valve seat, and this constant friction causes it to wear out. As a result, dripping is noticed around the spout. Dripping caused by worn-out rubber washers can be mended by replacing the washer. This type of leak is found in a compression faucet.

Why is the tap dripping?

A dripping tap or leaking tap usually means that the tap washer needs renewing, but it can also be caused by a damaged valve seating. If the drip is from a mixer nozzle, then change both tap washers. 1 Turn off the water supply to the taps *.
