How do you prepare green bean?

Here's our strategy for quickly tackling a mound of beans:
  1. Start at the store. When you pick out your green beans, don't toss them into the bag in a jumble.
  2. Trim a handful at a time. Grab a small handful and lightly tap the stems on a cutting board until they're all lined up.
  3. Wash the beans after you trim.

So, how do you cook fresh green beans?

Directions
  1. Place green beans into a large skillet and cover with water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until beans start to soften, about 5 minutes. Drain water.
  2. Cook and stir garlic with green beans until garlic is tender and fragrant, 3 to 4 minutes. Season with lemon pepper and salt.

How do you trim and snap green beans?

To prepare beans, trim both ends with a paring knife, or snap off. Cut beans in half into approximately equal-size pieces, then carefully split each bean in half lengthwise with a paring knife. 2. Bring 1 tablespoon butter and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a large skillet.

How long do you cook fresh green beans?

To boil green beans, cook them, covered, in a small amount of boiling salted water until crisp-tender:
  1. 10 to 15 minutes for whole or cut green beans.
  2. 5 to 10 minutes for French-cut green beans.
