How do you make concrete at home?

Part 2 Making Concrete from Limestone Cement
  1. Mix two parts all-purpose sand to one part of cement.
  2. Add four parts of gravel or crushed brick to the mixture.
  3. Slowly add water to the dry ingredients.
  4. Mix the cement together.
  5. Wash off your mixing tools.

What do you need to mix cement?

Another "old rule of thumb" for mixing concrete is 1 cement : 2 sand : 3 gravel by volume. Mix the dry ingredients and slowly add water until the concrete is workable. This mixture may need to be modified depending on the aggregate used to provide a concrete of the right workability.

How much water is needed to mix cement?

Empty the mix into a mortar tub or wheelbarrow and form a depression in the middle of the mix. Measure the recommended water amount (each 80-pound bag of concrete mix will require about 3 quarts of water). Pour approximately 2/3 of the water into the depression. If using liquid cement color, add to the mixing water.
