How do you apply for a visa to Russia?
If you want to travel to Russia, you need a Russian visa. In order to get a Russian visa, the first thing you need is an invitation (also known as visa support letter). After that, you can apply for the visa at a Russian consulate either by yourself or through a local travel agent (usually for an extra fee).
The United States Department of State prohibits the use of U.S. passports (except those with a special validation) for travel to North Korea, arguing that U.S. citizens have been subject to arrest and long-term detention for actions that would not be cause for arrest in the United States or other countries.
- Because of the strict laws in North Korea, all air travel in the country, particularly international air travel is limited. However, there are a few airlines that offer flight options to Pyongyang, the capital city. Air China - Air China offers flights to North Korea from Beijing on a regular basis.
- When the Japanese empire was dismantled at the end of World War Two, Korea fell victim to the Cold War. It was divided into two spheres of influence along the 38th parallel. The Americans controlled south of the line - the Russians installed a communist regime in the north, later ceding influence to China.
- The only thing a green card gets you is the right to apply for a visa at a Japanese embassy/consulate in the USA, and tourist visas are usually processed in 2-3 days. The citizenship of the visitor is the only thing that is relevant for Japanese visa exemption (US permanent residency status has no bearing).
The cost for processing a visa is divided into two quantities: The actual visa processing fee: AUD$135 for a tourist single entry visa (processed within 10 business days) or AUD$270 for an expedited Visa (processed in 2 business days). You must also add the cost of the letter of invitation or visa support.
- The application fee for the most common nonimmigrant visa types is $160. This includes tourist, business, student, and exchange visas. Most petition-based visas, such as work and religious visas, are $190. K visas cost $265 and the fee amount for E visas is $205.
- A K-1 visa is a visa issued to the fiancé or fiancée of a United States citizen to enter the United States. A K-1 visa requires a foreigner to marry his or her U.S. citizen petitioner within 90 days of entry, or depart the United States.
- If you are married to a U.S. citizen, then you are considered an "immediate relative" under the immigration laws. That means that, in theory at least, you are eligible for an immigrant visa (green card). However, anyone can be denied a green card if found inadmissible.
The FCO says nothing specifically about travel to St Petersburg and Moscow and advises that the majority of Russia, from the western fringes of Europe to the far eastern shores, is safe. However, it advises against all travel to some south-western regions, including Chechnya, Ingushetia and Dagestan.
- Russia and the United Nations. The Russian Federation succeeded the Soviet Union's seat, including its permanent membership on the Security Council in the United Nations after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
- Then, under the Clinton administration, there was a debate on whether, and on what terms, Russia could become a member of the Alliance.' Russian leadership, however, made it clear Russia did not plan to join the alliance, preferring to keep cooperation on a lower level now.
- NATO's official guidelines say member states should spend at least 2% of their GDP on defense. Of the 28 countries in the alliance, only five -- the U.S., Greece, Poland, Estonia and the U.K. -- meet the target. The rest lag behind. Germany spent 1.19% of its GDP on defense last year, France forked out 1.78%.
