How do you add an app to TiVo?
Using the Opera TV store
- On your TiVo box, go to TiVo Central.
- Select 'Apps & Games' > 'Opera TV Store.' See it.
- You'll see popular apps from all categories. From here, you can: See it.
- Select an app. You can choose to open it, or you can add it to “My Apps” – your favorite apps list – to open later.
To stream from a desktop or laptop, you'll need to point your browser to Amazon.com and sign into your Amazon account. Then, mouse over "Your Prime" in the top right corner. You'll see a tiled display of movies and TV shows appear. A selection of Amazon Prime Instant Video titles, as seen on a PC.

- Go to My Account.
- If your device isn't registered, a Register option displays on this screen. Select Register and enter your Amazon account information when prompted.
- If your device is currently registered, the name associated with your account displays in this section.
- Amazon Prime is a membership program that gives you and your family unlimited fast shipping, such as FREE Two-Day shipping to street addresses in the contiguous U.S., on all eligible purchases for an annual membership fee of $79.
Streaming media services: TiVo's supply of on-demand apps continues to grow, but at the moment this includes Netflix, Amazon Instant Video with Prime, Hulu Plus (coming soon to Bolt), YouTube, Yahoo, Aol On, Vudu, Plex, Web Video Hotlist and HSN for video. Spotify, iHeartRadio and Pandora are available for music.
- To program your TiVo from RCN remote, press the TiVo button to go to the TiVo Central screen and select Settings & Messages then Settings, then Remote, CableCARD & Devices, then Remote Control. Follow the easy on-screen instructions.

- Go to TiVo Central. Press the “Home” button on your TiVo remote to navigate back to TiVo Central.
- View all apps. Use the arrow keys again and select “Showcases and Apps” to view all the installed apps.
- Choose Hulu Plus.
- Choose the video you want to play.
- PlayOn is software for your PC. You download it to your computer, and it interacts with a streaming device or gaming console (such as Chromecast, Roku, Xbox, or Playstation) to play content on your TV.
The number of video sources that Tivo can record is growing. If you're a cable subscriber, you can record regular cable channels like HBO, NBC, or ESPN, but you can also record shows on streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Pandora, Spotify, and Amazon Prime.

- TiVo Stream is a transcoding device that seamlessly delivers content stored on any TiVo Premiere series DVR or the 4-tuner TiVo Roamio to mobile viewing devices such as the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. It allows for simultaneous streaming of recorded content to as many as four devices around the home.
- The TiVo Mini lets you borrow tuners from a TiVo Roamio or four-tuner Premiere DVR to stream content to additional rooms without the need to buy more DVRs. It's a generally excellent device and it's well priced at $99, but the rub is TiVo requires either a $5.99 monthly subscription fee or a $149 lifetime fee.
