How do I start my Samsung Galaxy s5 in safe mode?

Turn on and use safe mode
  1. Turn the device off.
  2. Press and hold the Power key.
  3. When 'Samsung Galaxy S5' appears on the screen, release the Power key.
  4. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key.
  5. Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting.

So, how do I do a factory reset on my s5?

The phone will now reboot to the initial setup screen.
  1. Press and hold the Volume up, Home and Power buttons until the Samsung logo appears on the screen.
  2. Scroll to wipe data/factory reset by pressing the Volume down button.
  3. Press the Power button.
  4. Scroll to Yes -- delete all user data by pressing the Volume down button.

How do you restart a frozen Galaxy s5?

If battery level is below 5%, the device may not power on after the reboot.
  1. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons for 12 seconds.
