How big is Sichuan?
Szechuan cuisine, which can also be called Sichuan cuisine or Szcehwan cuisine, is a type of Chinese cuisine that comes from the Sichuan province of southwestern China. Many Szechuan dishes incorporate a lot of garlic and chilli peppers.
- Most Sichuan dishes are spicy, although a typical meal includes non-spicy dishes to cool the palate. Sichuan cuisine is composed of seven basic flavours: sour, pungent, hot, sweet, bitter, aromatic and salty.
- In Chinese Indonesian cuisine, it is known as fu yung hai, sometimes spelled as pu yung hai.
