Do not change your dose or stop taking XARELTO® unless your doctor tells you to. Your doctor may change your dose if needed. Stopping XARELTO® may increase your risk of having another DVT or PE. You should always take 15-mg or 20-mg XARELTO® with food, at the same time(s) every day.
What pain relievers can be taken with Xarelto?
These over-the-counter painkillers -- called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) -- include such drugs as Advil, Aleve, Bufferin, Excedrin, Motrin and Nuprin, as well as aspirin. Patients who use blood thinners such as warfarin, Eliquis, Xarelto or Pradaxa should not take them, the researchers said.
Can you drink alcohol while on Xarelto?
This medication may cause stomach bleeding. Daily use of alcohol while using this medicine will increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Limit alcoholic beverages. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about how much alcohol you may safely drink.
