Do walkie talkies use AM or FM?

This requires a more complex circuit to convert the radio signal back into an audio signal but it provides a better quality transmission which is why FM radio sounds better than AM radio. Typical walkie-talkies in the US now use FM signals. Answer 2: Walkie-talkies are radios.

How do you work a walkie talkie?

Unlike a normal radio, which will only pick up broadcast voices or music from a radio station, a walkie-talkie is a two-way radio: you can both talk and listen (send and receive). The main drawback is that the same frequency channel is used for both things, so only one person can talk at a time.

How do you change the channel on a walkie talkie?

Change Channel Manually
  1. Turn the power knob clockwise to turn on the Motorola Talkabout.
  2. Press the "Menu" button to see the current channel flash on the screen.
  3. Press the "+" or "-" button to adjust the channel.
  4. Press the "PTT" button to save the channel.
