Can you get pregnant on the first day of your period?

It's possible, but highly unlikely. You'd have to have a very short menstrual cycle. If your cycle is shorter than average, 22 days for example, then you could ovulate just days after your period, if your period lasted seven days or more. In this case, it's more likely you could get pregnant just after your period.

Keeping this in view, can you ovulate a day before your period?

You are at your most fertile the day you ovulate (which is when your body releases an egg) and the day before. This is generally 12-16 days before your next period starts. And don't forget that sperm can survive for several days, so even if you have sex a few days before you ovulate, you could still get pregnant.
