Can you eat your own brain?

There's a good biological reason why cannibalism is taboo in virtually every culture: Eating other humans can make you sick. Specifically, eating the brain of another human being can cause kuru — a brain disease that's similar to mad cow disease. Kuru occurs because our brains contain prions that transmit the disease.

Keeping this in view, is it legal to eat your own body parts?

Thanks for the question , It is not dangerous to eat animal brain (liver is more dangerous) . There is no evidence of getting Mad cow disease from brain eating ( or any other disease for that matter ) . So don't worry and enjoy the dish ( If you wish to ) it is safe .
