Can you be pregnant and still bleed?

You can't have your menstrual period while you're pregnant. Some women do have vaginal bleeding during pregnancy. Some even report intermittent bleeding that seems like a regular period to them. But vaginal bleeding during pregnancy is not the same thing as menstruation.

Can you still be pregnant and have spotting?

Spotting is relatively common: As many as 1 in 4 pregnant women spot in the first trimester. Some pregnant women notice light spotting, called implantation bleeding, around the time their period is due, and this is one early sign of pregnancy.
