Can working out too much slow your metabolism?

Exercise and Metabolism. Because lean muscle mass burns more calories than fat tissue, your metabolism increases and you burn more calories per day. In theory, exercise aids weight loss. Overdoing it, though, can cause the numbers on your scale to stay the same or even rise.

Do you need to work out everyday to lose weight?

If you want to lose weight quickly and are unwilling to alter your diet, you should do some form of at least moderate physical activity every day of the week. You will generally lose weight when you eat significantly fewer calories than normal, burn significantly more calories through exercise than normal or both.
