Can I use a NiMH battery charger to charge NiCd batteries?
Depending on the type of NiCd charger you have, the older NiCd charger may undercharge NiMH batteries (most likely), it may overcharge them (less likely), or it may charge NiMH batteries properly (but it's not likely to do so automatically and could take a very long time). Let's take a look at the three cases.
1
Can you use a NIMH battery instead of a NICD battery?
Many people have asked “can I use NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries in my solar lights that have NiCd (Nickel Cadmium)?” And the answer is, yes! Not only can you replace with NiMH, but they are the better choice of battery as they have benefits that their NiCd counterparts don't.
2
Can you overcharge a rechargeable battery?
No, non rechargeable batteries cannot be placed in any charger. For optimal performance, Energizer® NiMH Rechargeable batteries are designed for use with Eveready®chargers. If the charger is not properly designed, it could cause a loss of performance by the battery being overcharged, undercharging, or overheating.

Can I use a NIMH battery charger to charge NICD batteries?

4
How long does it take for a 7.2 volt battery to charge?
Like Inverted said, it depends on the bettery capacity. For example a 3000 mAh battery charged at 3 amps (1C) will take 1 hour. At 6 amps(2C), it will take 1/2 hour. If the wall charger works at say 1 amp, it will take 3 hours.
5
Can you overcharge a NIMH batteries?
A NiMH in a NiCd charger would overheat, but a NiCd in a NiMH charger functions well. Modern chargers accommodate both battery systems. It is difficult, if not impossible, to slow charge a NiMH battery. Harmful overcharge can occur when charging partially or fully charged batteries, even if the battery remains cold.
6
How long does it take to charge a 2400mah battery?
It takes 8.2 hours ( 8 hours and 12 minutes ) time to charge or recharge 2400mAh batteries with charger that has 350mA current output. It takes 21.6 hours ( 21 hours and 36 minutes ) to charge or recharge aa size 1800mAh batteries with charger that has 100mA current output.
7
Can you use Duracell rechargeable batteries in an Energizer charger?
I recharged Rayovac AA rechargeable batteries but the manufacturer shouldn't matter (Energizer, Duracell, etc). The EBL charger package states it will charge AA/AAA NI-MH/NI-CD rechargeable batteries. It can charge Energizer "rechargeable" batteries, not the standard alkaline batteries.
8
How long does it take for Energizer rechargeable batteries to recharge?
The charge time for the included 1300 mAh AA batteries is about five hours. The 11-hour timer is strictly a back-up safety feature in the event the charger doesn't turn off once the batteries are fully charged. The Value Charger will recharge any NiMH AA and AAA batteries.
9
How long do Ni MH batteries last?
Generally, NiMH batteries that are properly cared for (charged and used often, stored in a cool, dry place, and not dropped) will last for 500 – 1000 charges or approximately two to three years. Remember, the more you use and charge NiMH, the longer they will last.
10
How long does it take to charge a Duracell rechargeable battery?
Value charger/CEF-14 - Charge any AA/AAA Batteries. The Duracell Ion Speed 1000 NiMH Battery Charger will recharge your batteries in 4-8 hours* with 1000 mW** of charging power.
11
Which is better NICD or NIMH batteries?
NiCd batteries use Cadmium, a highly toxic heavy metal, that can damage the environment if not disposed of properly. (They should be recycled not discarded). NiMH batteries usually have a higher capacity than NiCd batteries of the same size.
12
How long does it take to charge a vaporizer battery?
We suggest you charge the battery for at least 3 hours when it is dead, regardless of the light, this way you will get the most out of your battery. You will need to vape your battery entirely dead on this initial charge before you put it on the charger for the first time.
13
Do NIMH batteries need to be fully charged?
A: Yes, before you use them for the first time, you need to charge your NiMH batteries fully. Please note that for new NiMH batteries, it is often necessary to cycle them at least three to five times or more before they reach peak performance and capacity.
14
What is the meaning of trickle charge?
Trickle charging means charging a fully charged battery under no-load at a rate equal to its self-discharge rate, thus enabling the battery to remain at its fully charged level. A battery under continuous float voltage charging is said to be under float-charging.
15
Are NIMH batteries allowed on planes?
Batteries allowed in carry-on baggage include: ? Dry Cell Alkaline batteries; typical AA, AAA, C, D, 9-volt, button sized cells, etc. ? Dry Cell Rechargeable batteries such as Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Nickel Cadmium (NiCad).
16
Are NIMH batteries alkaline?
For most high drain electronic devices, like digital cameras, rechargeable batteries will continue to work much longer than alkaline batteries. In fact, in devices like digital cameras, NiMH batteries will run on a single charge for 3-4 times as long as they would on an alkaline battery.
17
What voltage to charge NIMH batteries?
Charging voltage is in the range of 1.4–1.6 V per cell. In general, a constant-voltage charging method cannot be used for automatic charging. When fast-charging, it is advisable to charge the NiMH cells with a smart battery charger to avoid overcharging, which can damage cells.
18
What is the difference in NIMH and NICD batteries?
Answer NiMH refers to Nickel Metal Hydride and NiCd refers to Nickel Cadmium. The major differences between the two types of batteries are is capacity, memory effect and environmental friendliness. NiMH batteries have high capacity, no memory effects and environmentally friendly.

How long does it take to recharge a car battery?
A car battery usually holds 48 amps so if you take that it charges at approximately 1 amp per hour you can work out how long it will take to charge your battery with various amperage chargers. Charging your battery with a four amp charger will take about 12 hours to get a full charge out of this low amperage.
